1/24/09 meeting

Thank you to Lori for hosting a great meeting on January 24, 2009. We started the year out with a bang! We discussed Mama Day by Gloria Naylor. The book was well received and was given all "thumbs ups". Lori was very well prepared and had critical analysis and charater analysis cliff notes to aid in the discussion. Sharon made a dvd slide show of her trip to an island that we think the book may have been based on. Lori served a spinach salad, rolls, BBQ chicken, links, tri tip and ribs and peach cobbler. The favor was a hot toti kit along with lavandar seeds and a candle for a candle walk. You'll have to read the book to understand the signifigance. Tina is hosting in March. Selection TBA.
